Coffee Pot is open every Tuesday between 10 and 12 and is strategically situated at the Aldwick Parish Council office next to the Surgery and Library.
This outreach is primarily for the local community as a way of getting to know people and introducing them to various Church activities where interest is shown.
A team of eight volunteers serve tea, coffee, chocolate and biscuits etc. whilst chatting to folk many of whom appreciate a listening ear. Some folk come for the whole time and others pop in as they are able but a friendly and happy atmosphere prevails each week.
Special occasions are marked with a cake and card. A bookstall offers suitable books for anybody to take and read.
No charge is made for the refreshments but all donations go to St. Wilfrid’s Hospice in Chichester. Since Coffee Pot started over seven years ago over £10,634 has been given to the Hospice.
“… Refreshments of steaming tea & coffee with a marvellous selection of biscuits; occasionally a birthday cake to celebrate a birthday together with a rousing rendition of Happy Birthday by all present. … The volunteers are always on hand to give advice to newcomers to this area regarding reliable workmen – plumbers, electricians, gardeners etc. …I thoroughly recommend this stimulating, interesting, beneficial weekly get together for all in need of a bit of T.L.C and an endless supply of tea & coffee. Dogs most welcome!” (Rosemary)
