As we partially return to worshipping in church this Sunday, why not give thanks to the successive generations of Christians who have met in this place over the years to worship the King of Kings? It’s good to know their legacy lives on.
On a very gloomy and wet day, why not recall with a grateful heart some of the answers to prayer with which God has blessed you. Why not share this with a neighbour over a cup of tea!
Even though we are experiencing an increase in reported COVID19 cases across the country including Arun, reflect on your own experiences of the trustworthiness of God. Praise Him for his faithfulness. think of all the things in your life right now that are going well – and thank God for each one of them.
Next Sunday will be our (online) Harvest celebration and although we can’t meet together we do want to make this a really meaningful service. We want to include as many of you as possible in the service and so, in this week’s news sheet we will be inviting you to join us in several different ways.
Firstly by contributing to our food collection for Food bank. Secondly by taking place in the great bread making challenge or the pie/crumble challenge or even the beauty of God’s creation challenge.
As you tune in to our online service this weekend, please make the most of hearing God’s word being explained clearly and relevantly. Pray that your heart may be fertile ground.
Jesus often withdrew to be alone and to pray. Before you download this weekend’s news sheet, offer yourself to God in prayer. Let Him know what is on your heart.
Thought for the day – Some people think God does not like to be troubled with our constant coming and asking. The way to trouble God is not to come at all. D.L. Moody.
After the debacle in the A level results, aren’t you glad God doesn’t grade us using an algorithm to see if we are “worthy” of saving? We deserve nothing from God but judgment, but in His grace, He offers mercy and full pardon to the one who trusts in the shed blood of Jesus Christ to wash himself clean. Never forget that salvation and everything that we have comes from God as a free gift by His grace. Hallelujah.

Welcome to our midweek worship service where we will be continuing with our series on hidden heroes of the Bible. This week will be thinking about an ordinary woman who served God by doing ordinary things – much as many of you do. It is inspirational story that hopefully will inspire us all in our quest to serve the Lord in these difficult times.

Sermon – Dorcas – An ordinary hardworking woman.
Worship song – Here is love, vast as the ocean
Blessing to close
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6
The weather over the last few days has changed dramatically as we have moved from wall to wall sunshine to an overcast sky. The rather dark morning today reminds me that we are meant to be light – whatever the weather. For in Ephesians 5:8 we are reminded that “For you were once darkness, but now you are the light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” So this weekend, why not really try to bring the light into your neighbourhood.
