Some of you may not know that C. T. Studd (1860–1931) was a famous English cricketer who gave up wealth and fame to become a missionary in China, India, and Africa. He is best known for his passionate faith and inspirational quotes. This week I hope this quote will inspire you to do great things for our great God.

I’ve had a difficult week which included a power cut that lasted for 19 hours, a car window that remained completely down despite my efforts and a garage roller door that refused to go up or down. So perhaps this week’ quote is aimed at me and anyone else whose week hasn’t gone to plan – “Circumstances may appear to wreck our lives and God’s plans, but God is not helpless among the ruins.” — Eric Liddell

As we continue with the lovely summer weather, spend a few moments reflecting on this quote by Billy Graham: “The heavens are telling the glory of God. When I look at the sunrise, I see His glory. When I look at the sunset, I see His glory.” God’s creation is truly amazing isn’t it – simply enjoy it!

Whatever anyone else tells you Billy Graham summed it up very clearly when he said, “Jesus Christ is not just one of many ways to God; He is the only way. He is the truth, and He is the life.” Let this reminder energise you life this week.

As my mum always used to say, “I love a family” – and that ‘s what we are – a family of God’s children here at ABC. I’m sure that Billy Graham would certainly agree as he once said, “The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life.” So, this week let’s celebrate and enjoy being ‘family’.
