Malcolm Muggeridge once said, “Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.” Are you tuning in to God’s message day by day?

This week as we look at the effect of our words on other people, this saying seems very appropriate.
“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”
Sometimes it is probably better to say nothing, if you have nothing worthwhile to say!

This week, please do think about this quote from D L Moody.

We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine.

The Christian life is one of renewal. God is all about moving forwards, upwards, and making things better. After all, that’s why He sent Jesus – so that we could have a renewed life. No matter what has happened in your life – a tragedy in your childhood, or just a clumsy mistake yesterday – God says that you can begin again.

Do you pray every morning? Or, maybe you pray every evening. Or perhaps you don’t pray very much at all. If so then this quote is definitely for you.
“A day without prayer is a day without blessing, and a life without prayer is a life without power.” – Edwin Harvey

If you struggling to find something worth reading this week, then this quote from D L Moody may help you. “The Bible was not given for our information but for our transformation.” But it won’t achieve its purpose if it remains unopened.

If you are worried about your fuel bills then this quote reminds us that these days will pass.
“And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb.” Revelation 21:23.

Talk to any competitive athlete, and they will say that the crowd’s encouragement played a significant part in keeping them going to the winning line. Who can you encourage this week in their Christian journey to help them to see the finishing line is in sight?

Do you read your Bible regularly? If you do then good because it is the greatest book ever written. But do you spend enough time to let God’s word sink deep into your heart, mind and soul? If you do, you will soon see that the Bible is God’s treasure map. And the treasure is getting to know God for yourself.

In Luke 22:52, Jesus himself asked the question of the chief priests, the officers of the temple guard, and the elders, who had come for him, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come with swords and clubs?”‘ So what is so revolutionary about Jesus? It was probably that he told us to ‘Love our enemies’.
