The power of God will take you out of your own plans and put you into the plan of God (Smith Wigglesworth) – but only if you are prepared to surrender your will to His will.
The power of God will take you out of your own plans and put you into the plan of God (Smith Wigglesworth) – but only if you are prepared to surrender your will to His will.
Just a thought. Jesus wants us to be lights in a dark world – but you need to make sure your switch is turned on.
This week, do think on this quote by D L Moody “I have never yet known the Spirit of God to work where the Lord’s people were divided.” Remember too this well-known saying, “United we stand, divided we fall.” Have you got the message? Unity in Christ really matters.
D L Moody once said, ““I firmly believe that the moment our hearts are emptied of selfishness and ambition and self-seeking and everything that is contrary to God’s law, the Holy Spirit will come and fill every corner of our hearts; but if we are full of pride and conceit, ambition and self-seeking, pleasure and the world, there is no room for the Spirit of God. I also believe that many a man is praying to God to fill him, when he is full already with something else. Before we pray that God would fill us, I believe we ought to pray that He would empty us. There must be an emptying before there can be a filling; and when the heart is turned upside down, and everything that is contrary to God is turned out, then the Spirit will come…” Do you need to pray that God would empty you? I think I do!
This week, why not think about this quote by Billy Graham? “Only when we acknowledge our weakness and look to the Holy Spirit for the wisdom and the strength we need will God bless our efforts.”
“Love is to the heart what the summer is to the farmer’s year. It brings to harvest all the loveliest flowers of the soul.” – Billy Graham. All you need is love!
Malcolm Muggeridge once said, “Every happening, great and small, is a parable whereby God speaks to us, and the art of life is to get the message.” Are you tuning in to God’s message day by day?
This week as we look at the effect of our words on other people, this saying seems very appropriate.
“Wise men speak because they have something to say; Fools because they have to say something.”
Sometimes it is probably better to say nothing, if you have nothing worthwhile to say!
This week, please do think about this quote from D L Moody.
We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine.
The Christian life is one of renewal. God is all about moving forwards, upwards, and making things better. After all, that’s why He sent Jesus – so that we could have a renewed life. No matter what has happened in your life – a tragedy in your childhood, or just a clumsy mistake yesterday – God says that you can begin again.
